Alamo Acres is located in New Carlisle, Ohio,  just west of Springfield and North of Dayton.   Life with goats is fun and exciting. They have wonderful personalities that cannot be compared with any other species. They are full of excitement when they see or hear you come into the barn.  They make wonderful companions for children and adults alike.  Caring for our boer goats is a slow, uncomplicated life that brings us great joy.  We receive a certain peace from just walking in the barn and being greeted by their sweet voices as they carry on a conversation with each other and us.

     Here at Alamo Acres, we hold memberships with both the American Boer Goat Association and the Ohio Meat Goat Association.  If you are interested in joining one of these Associations, please feel free to contact us for information.

     Our children have been involved in 4-H since 1998 when our oldest daughter started showing goats.   Our youngest daughter started showing them in 2001.   The lessons that they have learned from raising and showing goats are one's  that they will always remember.  We enjoy watching them share their experiences and knowledge with other 4-H members.  This alone makes it all worthwhile.  We encourage all children to become involved in 4-H and their county fairs.  The experience is something they can learn from and carry through life with them.  Caring for an animal, whether it be a goat or something else, teaches your child reponsibility and respect.
